Residential

Shutter & Stern is a design partnership formed in 1993 and located on the Main Line outside Philadelphia. Bill Shutter and Marilyn Stern, having a combined work experience of 40 years, are well equipped to fulfill the challenge of each individual project while balancing function and aesthetics to reflect the 
needs of each client.

Their experience in residential and commercial design has been in diverse locations ranging from Main Line Philadelphia to New York, Northern New Jersey, Connecticut, Florida and as far as South America. Commercial installations have included restaurants, hospitals and professional firms.

Bill Shutter earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from the Philadelphia College of Art (now the University of the Arts) in Environmental Design. 

Marilyn Stern received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from the MooreCollege of Art in Philadelphia.
